ABSTRACT
The paper attempts to bridge the gap between philosophy of economics and philosophy of medicine and discusses the methodological virtues of randomized experiments in both fields.

SPEAKER
David Teira Serrano is associate professor at the Department of Logic, History and Philosophy of Science, Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED), Madrid. He has worked on the epistemological implications of the statistical techniques applied in early demand theory and their impact on Milton Friedman's methodological stance, and is now working on the role of impartiality in the design and interpretation of clinical trials.
