The University of Siena invites applications for the Graduate Program in Economics (Economia Politica). Deadline: June 22, 2009. A maximum of 16 students will be admitted. The 8 most qualified candidates will be awarded a four-year scholar-ship of about C 13,600 (gross of social security contribution) per year, for a total of about C 54,400, plus tuition remission. A limited number of students can take advantage of lodging offered by the University of Siena in the Post-Graduate College “S. Chiara” sited in the historical centre of Siena. Since many years, the programme has gained a widespread international reputation for a pluralistic approach to economics, joining a strong training in quantitative methods with courses on economic history, economic analysis, economics of the institutions and the environment. The programme has always included multiple approaches and has never been restricted to what, at that moment, could have been defined as main-stream economics.
